Emily Taylor is a freelance photographer who resides in the United States. She was based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 2007 to 2011. She has years of experience shooting in and out of the studio and working with a variety of subjects.
Through her photography, Emily hopes to give a voice to those that would otherwise not be heard. She believes awareness between people and cultures is essential to understanding and hopes that her photography can act as a bridge to peace. Her photographs convey a sense of compassion and honesty in an attempt to highlight and bring understanding to different cultures.
Emily spent much of her time in Ethiopia working on documentary projects that showcased stories of growth and progression. She founded Project Image Ethiopia, an independent media arts organization that strives to bring cultural awareness to the larger global community. Her work now includes international assignments and contracts with local media organizations, NGOs, and businesses in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Emily was trained as a photographer at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia and received her degree in Studio Art with a major in photography in 2003.
